About Us
Our crafters consist of myself, Mona Mae Caldeira and my husband, Eddie Caldeira and together we have created this site Lei & Coconut. Though my main objective was to sell the handicraft that I am most familiar with, crochet leis and coconut postcards, my husband decided he would like to add his woodwork to the mix and so here we are. This has been a dream in the works for over a year and we are so excited to finally get our crafts out there for the world to enjoy. Our crafts are unique because we make them with our own hands and right here in our hometown of Anahola, Kaua'i, Hawai'i.
Our island home of Kaua'i, is one of the eight main islands in the State of Hawai'i. We are Hawaiian (both of us born and raised on O'ahu and made Kaua'i our home for over 30 years) and wish to share our craft as well as our culture with everyone who visits our site. As time goes by we will continue to add quality craft items such as coconut woven baskets, hats, and ornaments, leis made of ribbon, satin, and eyelash yarn, featherworks in lei, hatbands, and handheld kahili (feather scepters that were used by Hawaiian Royalty), and so much more.
Komo mai (which is Hawaiian for "come visit") our website often and see what new and exciting products we will be featuring in the near future. Also let us know what you like about our site and its products. We would love to hear from you so that we can make viewing our products more enjoyable for all who come to visit. Our email address is monamaeleicoco@aol.com and we will make sure we view each and everyone's comment to improve our site and products for our guests and customers.
